Giving to the Boggs Center

Giving Opportunities for the Lindy Boggs National Center for Community Literacy

The Lindy Boggs National Center for Community Literacy is established at a time when literacy is recognized as a major global issue. While debate continues in the U.S. about what adults need to know in order to fulfill their societal roles, universities are being called upon to become actively involved in local communities, and to revitalize the spirit of citizenship and education-based service. At Loyola University New Orleans, the Boggs Center actively supports the work of community-based practitioners to enhance adult literacy, as well as the efforts of university-based educators to connect thought to action and theory to practice. The Boggs Center actively engages members of the community as well as the university in the ongoing development of its agenda. For more information about funding initiatives to advance the work of the Boggs Center, please contact, Victoria A. Frank, Vice President, Division of Institutional Advancement at vafrank@loyno.edu or (504) 861-5432.
