Document Delivery Service
The Boggs Center Document Delivery Service will provide copies of literacy related articles from periodicals at no cost to literacy providers. We will offer 48-hour service for complete requests for copies of articles from journals available at the Boggs Center/Loyola University Library. The length of time involved in obtaining copies of articles that are not available-in-house will vary considerably, and cannot be guaranteed; however, we will make every attempt to obtain the requested material in a timely manner. If we anticipate that the material will not be available within a 48-hour period, we will notify the requestor of the anticipated delay. Requests will be accepted by phone, fax, and e-mail. All fax and e-mail requests will receive confirmation notices. Requestors should not assume that the request has been received until a confirmation notice is received. We are not able to provide multiple copies of articles.
Online Document Download Assistance
The wealth of full-text resources available on the Internet continues to grow; however, the complexity and size of many of the documents makes downloading them to many printers impossible. The Boggs Center will accept requests for these documents through the document delivery service, download them, and send them to providers. All requests should include the complete URL and title of the document.
Internet/Bibliographic Research Assistance
The Boggs Center is available to provide research assistance to literacy providers involved in literacy related research. We will search the Internet and bibliographic databases for information requested by literacy providers. Requests should be submitted through the Document Delivery Service; however, a one-on-one consultation, either in person or by telephone is recommended for extensive research requests.
Meeting Facility
The Boggs Center has recently expanded to include a meeting room able to accommodate 20-25 people. Reservation requests for adult literacy events should be made with the Boggs Center as early as possible but no later than 48 hours prior to a scheduled event.
